Doris Jean Nolan “DJ” Vick, 76, of Springtown, passed away at 7:19pm July 15, 2017 in the presence of her family and her Lord Jesus. No service will take place. In lieu of flowers, please give to your local non-profit hospice. Per momma’s wishes, her last request was that we have a party. This remembrance party will take place July 4th. Momma was born July 27th 1940 to Lucile and Sleepy Nolan. Along with sister Peggy the family moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina. Soon after, Doris married William Beal Vick of Fort Worth, TX. Soon, Deborah Jean, their first daughter arrived followed by second daughter, Marjorie Lynn, son, William Charles and then youngest, Christine Leigh. After arriving in Dallas in 1962 Momma went about the business of being a working mom. Her working career was spent at Statler Hilton, SMU, DISD, and Dal-Tile. She knew many and was loved by all. Her passion was her kids, 17 grand-kids, 21 great grand-kids and 1 great great grandchild. Her main hobby was reading…she loved a good mystery. In her last days, she got to spend time with her sister, Peggy Madison of San Antonio, TX, lifelong friend, Judy Hook of Garland, TX, and many, many family members who were able to make it by and sit with her as well. “The Troubles will soon be over but the Joy to come will last forever” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
