Danny Ray Hastings, 71, passed away, Monday, February 10, 2020 in Decatur. He was born November 28, 1948 in Sweetwater to Audrey Harold and Dorothy Marie (Burns) Hastings. They both preceded him in death. Danny retired from Bell Helicopter after 43 years of dedicated service. He loved his job and had worked in every plant that Bell owns. Danny was an avid fisherman and enjoyed as a young man going on with his father which was a guide at Lake Bridgeport. He was a bouncer at Billy Bobs for a number of years meeting several celebrity artist, making guitar straps for George Strait, Roy Clark and Loretta Lynn and was in the movie Pure Country. He even walked Willie Nelson to the stage on his horse. Danny also enjoyed Civil War reenacting and was a Quarter Master in the 9th Texas Red River Battalion. Left to cherish wonderful memories are his wife, Sheila (Barker) Hastings; sons, Justin, Alex and wife, Tammy, Kyle and wife, Darla, Micheal and Logan Hastings; brother, Johnny Hastings and wife, Lois; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
