Obituary for Gary Watson Dyess Sr.

Gary Watson Dyess, 68, went home to be with The Lord Friday, July 3, 2020. Gary was surrounded in love by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Gary fought a good fight of faith and finished his race well. Gary is proceeded in death by his mother WaNelle Moss Dyess and his father Billy Wayne Dyess. Gary retired from Tri-County Electric Cooperative of Azle, and enjoyed life woodworking, welding, building items for community service projects and family, his garden, and chickens. Gary was a very creative man and made many items that would aide in the service of those with handicaps. He was an inspiration of strength and resilience. Gary loved to be in the company of his wife, children, grandchildren, and visiting with family and friends. Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary Dyess, his children; Kelley, Amanda, and Gary Jr., their spouses Eddie Knaus, Ryan Halligan, and Lindsay Hamilton Dyess, his grandchildren Tristian, Kalel, Jedadiah, Addison, Edward, Gabriel, and Noah, his brothers Greg Dyess and Bobby Dyess, and many loving family members and friends. Gary loved to give and serve others, and this gift is one of the treasured memories he leaves to us all. Gary was adored and will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we all rejoice in his resting well in Eternity with Jesus. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gary Dyess will be held at a later date.
