Obituary for Savannah Hope Crabtree

Savannah Hope Crabtree, 27, of Azle, passed away, Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She was born on October 25, 1995 to Matt and Karen in Dothan Alabama. Savannah attended Walnut Creek Elementary, Hoover Elementary, Forte Junior High and Azle High school where she graduated 46th in her class.
She participated in several extracurricular and leadership activities including the drama club, basketball, volleyball, track and field (cross country, team relays and high jump), In-Door Drum line and band. Savannah would serve as the Marching Green Pride (MGP) Drum Major her junior year. Her senior year Savannah was selected to Head Drum Major where she lead the MGP to the UIL State Marching Contest.
Savannah’s active volunteer and community engagement includes various projects and activities with First Baptist Church of Azle including volunteering to assist and participate in Vacation Bible School. She watched children for PTO members and was an active member in Peer Assistance Leadership (PALs). Savannah worked concession at volleyball and football games at the Junior High schools and worked in the school Day Care after school. In addition to the work above, she dedicated time to work within the school system administrative offices as a volunteer.

Savannah was selected as the “Optimist Young Tex-Anne of the Month,” Flute Section Leader, Marching Band Member of the Year and the National Junior Honor Society.

Following graduation from Azle High School Savannah attended Baylor University.

Savannah would always great everyone with a smile and a hug. Her laugh was addictive, heart as big as the world. She was a beacon of “Hope,” the star in the sky guiding us with her love across this ocean of life that will never be the same.

Savannah is survived by her, mother, Karen; father, Matt; stepmother, Wendy; brother, Matthew (Blake) and wife, Jenna; brother, David; niece, Claire; Aunt/Uncle, Cheryl and Donald Denton, Velvet and Joe Allen, Christy and Thierry Rouillard, Aunt, Kim Crabtree, Uncle, Chase Ray, Uncle, Ross Crabtree; cousins, Donja, Derek, Dakota, Melena, Josh, Jessica, Ariane; grandmothers, Margaret Crabtree and Sandy Stickney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Weatherford Whiskers 807 E. Park Ave. Weatherford Texas 76086 (weatherfordwhiskers.org) to support cat rescue something dear to her heart.
