John Mathis

John Melvin Mathis, 76, passed away, Friday, November 5, 2021 in Fort Worth. He was born July 20, 1945 in Fort Worth to Evelyn Clarice Holder Reedy and Melvin Hogg. They both preceded him in death along with his wife of 45 years, Donnie Aaron Mathis, son, Jackie Wayne Mathis, daughter, Patricia Dobbs, brother, Kenneth Mathis and brother-in-law, Roy Banks. John worked as a welder and a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with old race cars and trucks (Really anything with wheels) and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Dorothy Mathis, John (Kathy) Mathis, Jr., Michael Aaron, Lakisha (John Pernell) Mathis and John (Shelly) Mathis; sisters, Audrey Banks and Evelyn (Hubba) Walker; brother, Sammy Aaron; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandson, all of whom will miss him.
