William Harlan Tidwell, 88, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Weatherford. He was born August 27, 1933 in Fort Worth to Albert and Ola Pearl (Landers) Tidwell. They both were there to welcome him home, along with his brother, Herbert Tidwell and step-daughter, Danni Laird. Harlan proudly served in the US Army and was a sheet metal worker by trade. He served as a member of the Sheet Metal Local Apprentice Committee, overseeing schooling and apprenticeships. Harlan also served as President of the Aztec Saddle Club and on the Board of Directors for many years, President of District 28 AASP&RC, President of Aztex Squares, a member of the Aztec Drill Team and often acted as the announcer of the Aztec Rodeos and North Texas High School Rodeo. He also served as a City Councilman for Sanctuary, Texas, Property Chairman of Azle Christian Church, Deacon for Azle Christian Church and most currently, was a Deacon Emeritus of Azle Christian Church and was a Little League Coach in the 1960’s. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Eileen Tidwell; daughter, Lita Ann Robey and husband, Peter; sons, William Darren Tidwell and wife, Reisa and Larry Duane Tidwell; grandchildren, Chad, Taylor, Anna, David and Anthony; numerous great grandchildren.
