Stephen Turner

Stephen Arthur Turner passed on the evening of October 16, 2024 at his home in Aurora, Texas. Born on August, 8th 1941 in Nowata, Oklahoma, he was the son of Arthur and Annabelle (Graves) Turner. Steve graduated from Nowata High school in 1959 where he developed a lifelong passion for sports. He pursued a career in sports analysis after meeting Susan, his wife of 63 years, at Oklahoma University. Steve and Susan started a family in 1962 and raised three children together: Stephanie, Arthur and Matthew. Steve loved the Sooners and the Rangers. In his free time, he played many excellent games of golf and watched sports with one of his many dogs at his side.

Preceding Steve in death are his parents, Annabelle (Graves) Turner and Arthur Turner. He is also preceded by his sisters, Martha Lee (Turner) McConnell and Helen Joe (Turner) Baldwin.

Steve is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susan (Austin) Turner and his children: Stephanie Doran and her husband, John; Arthur Turner and his wife, Tammy; and Matthew Turner. He is also survived by his sister, “Nan” Glynn.

Steve is also survived by granddaughters: Shelby, Rachel, Krystal, and Kathleen, and grandsons: Nick, Drew, Austin and J.D. He was blessed with great-grandchildren before his passing: Aubrey, Layla, Makala, Jace, Denver, Dakota, Caleb, Cole and Cason.

Steve also leaves behind an extensive network of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
