Obituary for Earlene Branson (Broom)

Sarah Earlene (Broom) Branson passed away at home with loved ones on November 9, 2018. She was a resident of the Springtown area near Poolville since 1971.  She was born during the Great Depression on May 27, 1933 near the small farming community of Mt. Joy in Delta County, Texas. Her mom and dad and their eight children relocated to Artesia, New Mexico when Earlene was in the third grade. She graduated with honors from Artesia High School in 1951. She married airman Hugh L. Branson of Kingston, Tennessee on June 21, 1952 and raised four children. Earlene retired a dedicated civil servant and legal secretary who in her lifetime worked for the Department of Energy (DOE) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where she had Q clearance, for the Department of Justice (DOJ) with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Dallas and with the United States Attorney's office in Ft. Worth, and with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She also worked as a civilian employee at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls where she was president of her union. Earlene also had an Associates Degree in criminal justice. Her daughter Ami Brown is a star of the hit television show Alaskan Bush People, which airs on the Discovery Channel.

Earlene is survived by her sister Ruby Broom; sons, Rene Branson and Leslie Branson; daughters, Jeana Williamson and Ami Brown; grandsons, Donnie Carlisle, Danny Branson, Matt Brown, Bam Bam Brown, Bear Brown, Gabriel Brown and Noah Brown; granddaughters Amber Branson, Sara Williamson, Angela Williamson, Snow Brown and Rain Brown; great grandsons, Connor Carlisle, Cooper Carlisle, Cade Carlisle, Dylan Branson, Braden Austin, Jace Austin, Davian Paulson and Gavin Paulson; great granddaughters Ashleigh Pasternak, Sarae Branson and Emma Carlisle; and great, great grandsons Anthony McDaniel and Mikah Johnson. Earlene also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
